As you probably have guessed, Revision3 didn’t buy our podcast. That’s okay. Skye actually fell for it. Haha Skye! Don’t worry. We still love you.
Now that our show has been added to iTunes, whoever at Apple reviewed it really liked the show! Apparently, they told one of their buddies at Revision3 to look at the show, and they thought we were hilarious! THEY WANT US TO START DOING A REGULAR WEEKLY VIDEO SHOW, sort of in a Diggnation style! They’re going to be sending AV equipment down here to Birmingham, and they’re going to build the set in my TV room in the back. Dude, this is so cool!!!!! The funny thing is that I haven’t been able to tell Skye yet.
*excitement* *bursts of joy* *happiness* *cartwheels*
Yeah baby! That’s what I’m talking about! Thank you, Apple!
I’ve noticed that although I use Skype VoIP to record the shows and Skye just uses her telephone, her audio sounds much better than mine does. Especially in this latest episode. I have not been able to record the calls before on my computer, because there were no free ways to do so. I was recording the show at phone quality (<50kbps), converting it to an MP3, and then converting it to an MP3 again. That makes the noise really bad on our shows. Well guess what!
There’s a new application I found and have fell in love with. It was apparently released since the last time I tried looking for a Skype call recorder. It will called Call Graph and can be found at CallGraph.in. I think I’m in love with the entire country of India for the amazing-ness of this program! It’s a very simple program, actually.
When you start up Skype for the firs time with Call Graph running, Skype will make sure it is okay for Call Graph to run. Of course, approve it. If you open up the Call Graph dialog box, you’ll notice something special about it right away. It’s blank. There is a search bar at the top and a button in the bottom that says “Okay” that minimizes it. That’s it.
Now, when you call someone on Skype, a window pops up in the bottom saying that it’s recording now. It will record calls that come to you too! It will even record calls to SkypeOut phone numbers, too - not just Skype-to-Skype calls. As soon as you want to stop the recording, just click on the Call Graph icon in the tray. A pop-up will come up saying that the recording was completed. Now, look at the Call Graph dialog box again. Your latest call will be listed in there. You have the options to edit the MP3’s ID3 tags, rename the recording, and delete it, all from within the application. The simplicity of Call Graph is amazing.
I just re-submitted the podcast to the iTunes store as Flick recommended I do as a comment from this morning’s post. I’m glad to announce that I got my confirmation email less than 10 minutes later saying that my podcast was successfully submitted. Hopefully within the next 24 hours, I will get another email saying that it has been accepted. This was my email (to use as proof if Apple for some reason doesn’t believe me in the future):
It’s been 11 weeks since I submitted the Brent and Skye Show feed to the iTunes store. 2 weeks later, when it wasn’t added yet, I submitted it again. Guess what. It’s been 9 weeks since then, and it’s still not on the iTunes store. Podcasts usually take 24 hours at most to be added to the store. Why have I yet to receive the email. What should I do? Should I submit the podcast again?
From Apple.com’s Podcasting FAQ page:
After you successfully submit your podcast, a confirmation email is sent to the email associated with your iTunes account. If an itunes:owner is specified in the RSS feed and includes an email address, this and subsequent emails will be sent to that address. You podcast is reviewed by iTunes staff before it goes live in the iTunes Store. If it is approved, you will receive another email, which includes a link to your podcast. The link works immediately, but your podcast is not immediately searchable. The iTunes Store servers must first index your podcast, a process which can take up to 24 hours

Hey guys, this is Skye! Wow… I am getting ready to watch the movie “The Lost Boys.” I’m really happy, I love VAMPIRES!!!! EDIT: Skye typed her first blog post while talking on the phone to me, Brent.
There is a new category on the Brent and Skye website! It is the blog! Skye and I both have the ability now to post blogs posts about things that are going on in our lives that we want to share with all of you! Right now, I’m working on the PHP and all that jazz to add the ability to have it say which one of us wrote the post, but I’m sure you aren’t interested in that. So, I will just let you know that we are both going to start posting blog posts regularly here on the website! Of course, if you want to see my real blog, go to www.brentirwin.tv! It is probably the coolest blogs in the world. =D
Look forward to the new show we’ll be recording tomorrow night. There will be a special guest host!
