We’re going to have a promo soon! So now it’s time to promo swap. Someone has already called first place, but there’s still hope for your promo. If you have a podcast, listen carefully. I have some kind of bug right now, and when I talk, it sounds like I have Q-tips shoved up my nose. So unfortunately, Skye and I won’t be recording a show. How loopy I am might make the show more entertaining, but unfortunately, I just can’t do one today. Sorry!
Well, chances are, we will PROBABLY have a live show today. Unfortunately, though, I have not been able to talk with Skye about this yet. If we do not have a live show today, I do have a recording of a conversation we had last week. I’ll edit it and release it as episode 15.
I’ve been posting in the blog a lot lately about this podcast getting a re-branding. Well, it happened! The Brent and Skye Show will from here on out be known as The Hangout! www.thehangoutpodcast.com has been registered, it’s just not ready for use yet, so it’s not working at the moment. I’ll get it set up as soon as I can.
There is good news, though. No re-subscribing is requred! If you subscribe to The Brent and Skye Show in iTunes or any other RSS reader, it will automatically switch to The Hangout for you! Isn’t that cool?
There is bad news, though. There are so many links and images all across the website. Many of them have “brentandskye” in their title. If you find any places on the website where the link is no longer relevant, please tell me! You can email me at brent@brentirwin.tv. Normally, I’d have you send email to the podcast email address, but there isn’t really one in effect right now. I’ll fix the email-related links as soon as www.thehangoutpodcast.com gets set up. Please do help out be emailing me if you find a problem, though. I’d appreciated.
But I’d like to end this post on another positive note. The logo for The Hangout is a scalable image! Yes, that’s right! Now, We’ll be able to use this logo for putting it on t-shirts, posters, banners, whatever we want to! Before, we just had a 2500×2500 version of our album artwork. Yeah, that would print to be an 8-inch square, but what if that’s not enough? The new logo has been designed in vector, so it’s scalable! Does that mean Hangout t-shirts in the future? I don’t know…
I’ve created the album artwork for the new name this show will have. Unfortunately, I can’t show you the logo or the name yet, since I still have yet to register the domain name. The art’s pretty much the same, but I think it looks better now. The font on the “secret” box is the font that makes up the main word of the logo.
So… what is this? What do you mean new name? It still says “The Brent and Skye Show” on this website. Well, possibly not for long. Lemme a-splain.
There are many reasons why the Brent and Skye Show needs a new name. It’s basically a need for an easier URL. Brent and Skye are two names that are not the easiest to spell. Sometimes people use ampersands instead of and. People have said, “What? ‘Brent In Sky?’” before. That is basically the reason we’re changing the name.
Now, what’s the new name? Well, Skye and I have come up with a new name, but we can’t tell you yet. We can’t tell you, because we haven’t registered the domain name for the new name. We don’t want someone to register it before we get our hands on it, so we won’t announce what it is. Before we register the name, we need a discussion with our “Board of Directors.”
The Brent and Skye Board of Directors is the group of people who participate most frequently in the Brent and Skye community. Their job is to vote on important issues regarding the podcast. So far, we have not needed to hold a “board meeting” yet, so they might not even know they’re on the board. But of course, I, Brent, am the “chairman” and producer, and Skye is the “co-chair”, so all matter are ultimately made by us.
But anyway, it will be the board’s decision what whether we put the “the” in the URL and whether we put “podcast” or “cast” in the URL. We report back here on the blog after every member of the board has given their input. But it’s not up to them whether we change the name or not. We’re changing it. You’ll love it!
I’m currently tring to figure out how I’m going to do this, but I’ll be able to. I am going to keep BrentandSkye.com. I’m not just going to merge it to BrentIrwin.tv. I am, however, going to put all of the posts in the episodes part on both of the blogs. If you don’t understand what I’m talking about, you’ll understand when I implement it.

The Brent and Skye Show is making its return soon! (Hopefully, it’ll be sometime this week.) The show will come as two 20- or 30- minute shows a week with a slightly different format.
The big news, however, is that The Brent and Skye Show is merging with www.brentirwin.tv! I’ll be hosting some other podcasts there as well, so why not have them all in the same place? But with making a transition like that comes a new site design. BrentIrwin.tv will take on the general look of the current Brent and Skye Show website (the one you’re probably on now). The changes won’t be that hard, but it will be a lot of work to get everything working in the new system.
